With WinCatalog you can create catalogs of all your stuff. A catalog can contain data stored on a hard drive, data stored on a portable or removable storage device, data stored on a disk, data from a folder on the network, files from various locations, and custom items. You can let WinCatalog read a drive, storage device, disk, or folder and automatically create a catalog; and you can also manually add custom entries to the catalog.

WinCatalog is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. Download an installer, run it, and a setup wizard will guide you through the installation process. If you installed applications on your Windows PC in the past, you shouldn’t have any problems installing this one.

WinCatalog has a ribbon interface – buttons for all the features, functions, and settings that you can play with are presented on a ribbon, at the top of the interface. As is usually the case with such interfaces, the ribbon can be hidden out of sight. Click a button and the ribbon will be minimized.

Say you want to catalog the data stored on a portable storage device – removable disk J for example. Click the “Add disk” button, select “Removable Disk J”, and let WinCatalog automatically catalog the data stored on the device. That would be a very easy means of creating a catalog. It’s not the only one though. WinCatalog allows you to add more than disks to a catalog; it also allows you to add folders, virtual folders, files, and custom items.

Once you have a catalog, you can manage it from WinCatalog’s user friendly ribbon interface, you can search within the catalog to quickly locate a file, you can mark items as loaned, you can copy items to your physical drive, and more.

The trial version of WinCatalog is limited to 10 disks.

Easily catalog and efficiently manage your data with the very useful WinCatalog disk catalog software for Windows.

Pros

You won’t have any problems installing WinCatalog on your Windows PC. WinCatalog has a ribbon interface that is quite easy to use. You can add drives, disks, folders, virtual folders, files, and custom items to a catalog. You can create and manage multiple catalogs. Add contacts and manage loaned items.

Cons

Trial limitations: 10 disks limit, nag screen.
